Is it guaranteed that my visa will be approved?
The final decision is at the discretion of the issuing authorities of the country where the application will be submitted and can never be guaranteed. Nonetheless, our friendly consultants are ready to assist and give you a better chance of achieving the desired outcome.
How far in advance should I apply for my visa?
Timely applications are always key. It depends on the country you want to apply to.
Regarding Schengen countries, it is optimal to apply two months in advance in order to avoid any disappointment. Regarding countries including the USA, UK and Canada, it is safer to apply at least 3 months in advance. In regards to most African countries, they generally have a shorter processing time. Our consultants will be happy to advice you on the appropriate time to apply for your visa.
What is a transit visa and do I need one?
A transit visa is issued to an individual who would be transiting in a different country on their way to their final destination. Transit visa rules are different for each country. Please confirm with one of our consultants before booking your trip.
What is needed for traveling minors?
- Certified original copy of the full unabridged birth certificate (displaying the father’s and mother’s name). THE ORIGINAL MUST BE PRESENT AT THE APPOINTMENT.
- Certified original copy of the information page of both parents’ passports.
- A court ruling in case of custody (guardianship or divorce decree).
- Department of Home Affairs consent form certified – This can be provided by one of our consultants or can alternatively be found on the Home Affairs website.
- In the case where a child is travelling with one parent only or with a guardian, you will also need permission letters from parents not travelling with the child. Signed and certified.
Can I still apply if I do not have a South African passport?
You can apply if you have one of the following:
- Study permit
- Work permit
- Spousal permit
- Permanent residency
- Or if the closest application centre or Embassy is situated in South Africa
If my visa is refused, do I get my money back?
Visa fees are not refundable should your visa get refused.
How long must my passport be valid for?
Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after returning to South Africa.
Do I need to apply in person?
Certain countries require you to submit your application in person. In regards to Schengen countries, Australia, UK, the USA and Canada you have to submit biometrics. Despite this, there are certain countries that do allow our consultants to submit an application on your behalf. We will advise accordingly before starting the process.
